Camp Montessori Corner

Camp Montessori Corner offers a varied and happy summer experience for children 18 months through 9 years. Our new program provides opportunities in challenging physical and athletic activities, arts, outdoor education, literature and book making, music, drama and our fabulous everyday swim lessons. The summer experience is designed to educate through the social, emotional and physical experiences:

Sunflowers (1.5 to 3.0 years)-The summer toddler program is a wonderful opportunity for the “little ones” to continue on the road to independence. Children learn to calmly separate from parents, use language, work independently and safely in their community setting, specifically prepared for children who enjoy discovery and activity. During the scheduled day they will have water play, individual lessons, music, story telling, art, games and physical education.

Crickets (2.5-4.0 years)-This program is for full- or half-day campers who will have sequential opportunities to become independent in a Montessori classroom of discovery and achievement. Individual lessons for each child provides an academic base for success. Group activities in music, story telling, physical education, and water play, emphasizes community building.

Butterflies [full day] and Katydids [half day] (3.0-6.0 years)-Children enter an environment prepared by Montessori teachers that provides stimulating, sequential learning. Bi-weekly themes integrate classes in art, music, physical education and movement, and swimming.

Swans and Hawks (6.1-9.0 years), Eagles & Owls (4.9-6.0 years)-Summer camp academic program is an opportunity for continued academic growth in a stimulating and friendly environment. Children will challenge themselves in a variety of areas including math, science, literature and social studies. The curriculum will include exploring cultural differences, biomes, science experiments, writing, poetry, problem solving, and gardening, among other topics. We will be building community through helping one another. Sharing ideas and experiences is the foundation to our enriching and interactive summer camp.

Summer Camp in held at the beautiful Country Day Campus. This site is sun safe for campers with many mature trees and a field house with a gym and indoor pool. Therefore, activities are never canceled because of weather.
